Geoff Mullet started Avtech Engineering in 1979 and built it by taking on the impossible jobs and getting them done efficiently. He bought the latest equipment at the time that was needed to complete the wide range of ongoing projects. In this way, he placed the company ahead of the competition.
In 2002, Avtech was on the lookout for a general manager, which led to Steve Delfos accepting the position. Steve spent several years selling CNC machines, before going back into the industry as a machinist at P. G. Watson, one of the largest repetition machining companies in Osborne Park in the 80’s.
Steve worked his way up to become the CNC Production Manager, and finally spent four years as general manager after the company was taken over by a corporate company. Steve steered that company through a change from mass production to smaller volumes as the market changed.
During the next 3 years, Avtech underwent a similar transformation, and that success enabled the business to grow and make a profit.
In 2005, Steve became a 25% partner in Avtech, and in 20O7, he bought the business outright and became the Managing Director. With this opportunity, he carried on the same philosophy as Geoff, building the company, purchasing the latest equipment, and growing the business by taking on the challenges that others would say no to.
Our selection of machines enables Avtech to produce custom-manufactured products. Avtech uses the latest technology and high-quality CNC machines and tooling, with features that provide customers flexibility and efficiency for the manufacture of their components.
Avtech has continued to invest in CNC machining technology, including a large selection of high-tech machine tools for precision component manufacturing.
We have the capability to do prototype and complex work on some of our multi-axis CNC machines to enable parts to be completed in one operation, which would otherwise take several operations or not be possible at all.
In 2016 Avtech was awarded ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 14001:2015 accreditation and in 2018 included the ISO 45001:2018 in 2018, with all systems and processes approved.
Avtech believes this gives our customers the comfort that their components will be made under a recognised system and that all certification of materials and as-built measurement reports can be supplied as required.
We make parts for a diverse range of companies that export their products. We have identified our markets and keep them as diverse as possible.
It has been said that we are successful in the supply due to our accuracy and timely delivery.

Our logo shows two grey lines that make up the right-hand side of the letter A. The higher darker stripe is Avtech, being at the pinnacle of our industry, and the other lighter one is you, our client. As we come down the path together, we work to achieve success at the crossover, which now puts the customer on the top, and being longer than the darker line, with Avtech’s support now places them ahead of their field.
Starting in 2018, Avtech Engineering set up an expansion project to transform its current factory, yard area and office. We have invested $1.5 million in the latest technology with our CNC Wire Cutting, 4 & 5 axis machines and the latest software to support them, we are now well placed to make your plans a reality.We have now twice the floor space in our factory to allow our sections to be streamlined to increase efficiency.
This expansion has enabled us to have the room to place more machinery in our factory, giving our clients a good range to encourage them to use us as their “One Stop Shop”.
In 2018, Avtech Engineering was nominated for the 2018 Swan Business Awards in the Category for Best Trade Service – Large Business and were successful in winning this category.
